Afghanistan”

Winner of the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Cannes Film
Festival in 2001, Kandahar depicted
the devastating effects of decades of war and Taliban
oppression on the Afghan people.

Lecture
Nov. 30 and Dec.
1, 2005: Adath Jeshurun Synagogue, Minnetonka
A school bus picked up 30 seniors at the Senior Center
and 30 students from Edina High School who sat in mixed
company on the bus and at a luncheon following the lecture.

One of the
Edina Reads sponsors was the Edina Human Rights and
Relations Commission, which arranged for a "Conversation on
Diversity in Edina" with Ghafar Lakanwal, Afghan immigrant
